Obviously, you can always go the easy, not-so-DIY route by ordering a Halloween Bath Bomb Set, but making your own Halloween bath bombs can be a fun craft time mission to take on together with your young one. We suggest starting by gathering all the necessary ingredients. Here’s a comprehensive, totally safe, non-toxic list of all the ingredients for Halloween bath bombs you’ll need:
1 cup of sodium bicarbonate (a.k.a. baking soda)
¼ cup of tartaric acid
¼ cup of citric acid
½ cup of salt
½ cup of cornstarch
2 ½ tbs. of oil (we suggest coconut and/or shea)
¾ tbs. of water
15-20 drops of your choice of essential oils (choose based on desired effect)
Pigments
Halloween style bath bomb molds
NOTE: This recipe will make a bubbly bath bomb, but unfortunately it won’t be quite as foamy for quite as long or have the same skin softening or cleaning abilities as the usual Daisy Encens recipe.
Next step:
Dump all of your dry ingredients together in a bowl (including the pigments if they are dry, as well) and whisk them thoroughly until completely mixed up
Combine your wet ingredients in a small cup, including whatever essential oils you choose
Now slowly, slowly, slowly pour your wet ingredients into your dry mixture. Remember: sloooooowly
Once mixed, take your mold and pack it tight, let it sit for at least one minute, then gently tap your newly minted Halloween bath bomb out of the mold and let it dry for at least 24 hours
Get ready for a spooky spa bath!
To really go over the top with the Halloween vibes for your kids’ (or your own!) bath time, here are a couple more ideas:
Candlelight (maybe even a jack o’ lantern!)
Bathtub-adopted costumes (think of something involving swimsuits!)
A scary rubber ducky
